Happy new year

In Germany we celebrate the new year with big fireworks. Everybody in the neighborhood can do it. A few people are crazy enough to make plans over the hole year just to have a bigger and
better firework than anybody else. But these fireworks are nothing against the really big ones
in Berlin at the "Brandenburger Tor" or at the cathedral in Coloen (Köln). By the way, the new year is called "Silvester" in Germany (its named after the pope Silvester).
There is another tradition in Germany I want to tell you about, and thats to watch the movie
"Dinner for one" whitch youn can see in TV only at new year. Dinner for one is a very funny movie about an old british lady who is celebrating her birthday at new year, where she invites
all of her friends to celebrate with her. The only problem is that all her friends are dead and the only other person in the hole movie is her buttler James. My advice to you is if you ever get the chance to watch the movie: do it.

Hi Jan, it is a really good text. I think so the Spanish students can have a better idea about the traditions in Germany.
